Throughout the entirety of our opening sequence, we plan to have many different types of shots. To start off the opening scene we will do a zoom shot on each character individually which turns into a pan shot around their head, this helps create the initial mood and allows the audience to see the troubled emotions of each character by their facial expressions.

Our characters
During our film we will include 3 different characters who are each facing their on hidden ‘problems’ in life and they will all be played along with the socially constructed stereotypical presence of said ‘problem.
Secret Homosexual – This is a guy who is aware he is a homosexual but hasn’t told anybody and has a girlfriend to cover it up.
A Suicidal Guy – This guy is a very intelligent person and gets bullied for being the class ‘geek’ which has caused him to feel suicidal.
Drug Addict – This guy is addicted to drugs but wants to get clean, this is a very socially tricky subject to cover.
Our logo
Our production company is called ‘Giant Productions’ because a giant is a strong and bold figure and we feel that our final product will tower above everyone the rest. Our logo was created by Daniel in photoshop. To make the logo Daniel first set the resolution to 800x450 and set the background from white to black. He then added the text and created the stick man using different shapes. The group was happy with our final product and it can be seen below.
Character Changes.
As shown in our idea pitch, we planned on having a character who was an alcoholic. Upon feedback and careful consideration we have decided to not include this character as we feel it is not appropriate for a teen angst film due to the target audience age.

Feedback from our pitch
One of our main pieces of feedback was that having an alcoholic as one of the main characters. This is a very controversial choice. This is because our target audience is teens and it can be argued that teens do not commonly struggle with alcoholism. This was one of the main points we had feedback on amongst other things.
Our Pitch
In this presentation conducted by Sam, Daniel, Lewis and I, we talk about our ideas for a film called Affliction which we will be creating for this task. Once our presentation had concluded the audience (our class) had a chance to give any feedback and ask any questions they may have. This helped us out as it made us think of our ideas and ensure we go with what we wanted.
Title and connotations
We have called our film 'Affliction'. Affliction can be defined by "a cause of pain or harm" or "the state of being in pain" this connotes with our film which shows how being a teenager isn't all fun and games and has a serious and sometimes painful side to it, this is all made clear in the title sequence and opening scene. The title can also connote to the characters individually as they are all suffering their own problems personally which can be painful.

Filming Locations
We originally wanted to film on former RAF Upwood near Ramsey, this was the perfect location as it helped to set the atmosphere due to the tall buildings not allowing much light into some areas of the base and the deep, emotional feel to the now abandoned RAF station. Upon reviewing the situation it was not feasible to get everyone required, there. We then decided as a group to relocate to Priory Park which is in the same town in which we all live in, this made it easy for us all to get there and still has the right mood in which we want to portray in our piece. We have also used a studio to film a few shots, this is done with a white backdrop and studio softboxes to keep it minimal to allow to focus to remain on the person in shot.
